Washington, D.C., is a great place to study graphic design. The metro area is home to a wide variety of large marketing companies and corporations with the need for graphic designers, both full-time and freelance. In addition, government organizations, such as the CIA, often hire graphic designers. The city is also home to more organizations and associations for graphic designers than any other major city, including AIGA, the Graphic Artists Guild, the Society for Environmental Graphic Design and the Organization of Black Designers.
